Solent Sunbeam Rules (1939)
OK, you get the message! (I've broken the rules, with a crop & paste of Class Rule book artwork!)

What else is a rule book for?  The 1939  owner's notes on halliard lengths.

Now for the official bits, as they were in 1939, just as both Sunbeam classes disbanded, due to the war.

Officers of the Solent Sunbeam Class in 1939

Pages 2 - 5 of the Rule Book of  1939 - List of Boats V1-13, year of build, hull colour and owners.
These numbers reflect Solent Numbers 22-30 adopting, in 1927, Falmouth Sunbeam Nos. V14-V21

The specifications, pages 6-9, remain as built by Woodnutts.

1939 RULES seem hardly changed since Lubbock's minutes of the meeting on 6 October, 1922

Even the subscription remains at two Guineas per annum, from each boat.
1939: spinnakers permitted, but must be made and stamped  "Standard" by Ratsey & Lapthorn
Area of mainsail must not exceed 240 (of the 300) sq. ft., no hollow masts allowed
Interestingly, with 29 boats listed in 1939, Rule XXIV states "The  number of boats is limited to 30."
and, "No boat built later than 1929 shall be admitted to the class!"
